While shopping at Vallarta market this weekend for my pickle story, I happened to notice that they had beef jerky at the meat counter- so I just had to try a little
My Spanish is not what it used to be, but I think it says:
Supreme Beef Jerky is prepared in a traditional manner. We do not use any artificial colors or preservatives. We only use natural juices and flavors. I bought 3 nice big pieces for 3.60. (each piece is about a foot in length!)

The jerky is very dry, and slightly salty but there is no smoke(nor any fake smoke flavor). I got the "limon" variety which is a little spicy (and sneaks up on you a little!) but tastes mostly like dried beef and pepper, although there is a faint hint of lemon or lime. The long strips also tear easily into smaller more manageable pieces. They also have a "chile" flavor with the large hot pepper seeds all over.
Compared with the Robertson's "Real" beef jerky, I'd choose Robertsons, but this jerky is still nicely priced and is much better than most packaged jerkies.
Vallarta market is a chain supermarket in the Southern California region.
