Since the first pickle of the month was easy to get, but the Jerky was mail order, I switched them around this month.

Jack Links makes a large variety of beef jerky that is available in airports, convenience stores and supermarkets.  Of all of the varieties that I have tried, this is my favorite.

Sweet & Hot.

So what is it that I like about this jerky?

Well mainly, it does not have that artificial smoke flavor that my old favorite "Oberto" started adding.

It is also very tender, is easy to tear small pieces from the larger strips, and has the faintest hint of sweetness, but also a little bit of a red pepper kick to it.  The best thing though, is that there are no large peppercorns or seeds to fall off onto your clothes as you eat it :)

My cats are huge fans of this kind too, but then, they like any beef jerky brand- even "Pemmican" - *shudder*.
